Manage Roof Leaks at Your Facility with Products from New
Pig
When a roof leaks, repairs are seldom
the first thing on the mind of a conscientious owner, manager
or maintenance technician. Their first priorities are safety,
damage and productivity. Will there be a wet, slippery floor?
Will the leak affect sensitive electronic equipment that
may result in thousands of dollars in replacement costs?
Will a roof leak result in downtime and
perhaps a loss of market share to a competitor? Don’t
“grunt,” New Pig has heard plenty of horror
stories of times when roof leaks don’t
allow repairs to be made in a timely manner. Let’s
look at what comprises a PIG® Leak Diverter and some
of the basic applications for its use:
PIG®
Leak Diverters for open roofs
 |
In many manufacturing facilities and
warehouses, the roof is supported by a truss system
and the underside is exposed to the interior of the
building. When this type of roof leaks, repairs may
become more lengthy and difficult, and a quick fix
is quite often needed so expensive equipment and material
are not ruined. |
This is a job for a heavy-duty PIG®
Leak Diverters for Roofs!
PIG®
Leak Diverters for Roofs are specially designed
as a solution to substantial roof leaks
in commercial warehousing and manufacturing facilities.
- Protection
Workers and equipment are protected not only from roof
leaks, but also overhead leaks of oil and other
liquids.
- Durable
The heavy-duty tarp uses a 3/4" garden hose connection
to drain water safely away from protected areas. (Hose
sold separately)
- Safe
The tarps are flame-resistant for an added measure of
protection. Heavy D-rings resist tearing and provide easy
installation.
- Unobtrusive
Available in translucent fabric that lets light pass through.
Gray blends in with plant ceilings; clear lets you easily
monitor roof leaks & repairs. The
fabric is also available in green and red.
High-Volume
Flow rate of 3.33 gallons per minute when used with a
1/2" garden hose.
- Safety-Conscious
PIG® Leak Diverter is available in bright yellow fabric
with the message, “SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S BUSINESS”
emblazoned on two sides.
- Non-Standard Sizes Available
Stock sizes available
for immediate shipment. Custom sizes available on a per-order
basis. Call 1-800-HOT-HOGS® (468-4647)
or click
here for more information.
A 16" wide diverter is also available in a trough-style
design that fits between ceiling joists and diverts overhead
roof leaks away from work areas. Click
here for more information.
PIG®
Leak Diverters for Pipes
New Pig also offers a Leak
Diverter especially designed for overhead pipes.
This system features flexible collection funnels designed
to hang from pipes by means of rubber straps (included)
and directs leaks to floor drains or containers through
a standard garden-hose connection. (Hose sold separately.)
The collection container is more funnel-shaped than the
PIG® Leak Diverters for Roofs because a leak from a
pipe is usually more concentrated in a single area. Custom
sizes available!
Sometimes,
however, a pipe technically isn’t “leaking.”
It may just have some condensation that builds up and tends
to drip a little—or a lot, which is where PIG®
Leak Diverters come in! One or two drops of
condensation here and there may not be much of a problem,
but a 15' length of pipe that’s dripping from one
end to the other is another matter. No problem – New
Pig has you covered! The PIG® Leak Diverter for Pipes
– Sloping Style, catches the drips from a length of
pipe and gravity-feeds the liquid to a 3/4" garden
hose (Hose sold separately) at one end. The heavy-duty,
vinyl-coated fabric is flame-resistant, durable and non-permeable.
It won’t leak or let liquid seep through.
Looking
to catch those leaks – and fast? The PIG®
Leak Diverter Quick Deploy is as easy to open
as your umbrella! It’s light-weight and easy to set
up – just hook on pipe or rafter, pull off the sleeve
and the Diverter springs open – yet extremely durable
and non-permeable. Includes 20' of flexible PVC drain hose
for directing liquids, plus a 3/4" drain fitting. The
perfect way to protect workers, equipment and floors from
overhead leaks…in a snap!
LEAK
DIVERTERS for offices
We’ve
all seen it. You walk into a beautiful (okay, sometimes
not so beautiful) office, look up, and UGH!—there’s
this huge, unsightly water-stain on one or more of the ceiling
tiles. Did you know that mold spores just love to accumulate
on wet ceiling tiles? It’s true. And then they love
to get into the ventilation system and spread themselves
all around the building. So what do you do? Change the ceiling
tile? That works until the next rainfall or until a leaking
overhead pipe is fixed. But then what? Your new tile begins
to get stained just like the old one. It used to be that
if you wanted to stop your ceiling tiles from getting ruined
by roof leaks, you would have to make repairs
to the roof.
That is, until PIG® Leak Diverters came
around!
PIG®
Leak Diverters for offices features the InBrella™
Office Leak Diversion System to temporarily
divert roof leaks as far as 25' away from
their source. Flow rate of channeled liquid is .13 gallons
per minute. The InBrella™ panels are manufactured
to replace both 2' x 2' and 2' x 4' ceiling tiles. A drain
hose attaches to the channeled panels to direct liquids
to a collection container or floor drain. Is it a permanent
fix? Well, it could be if you don’t mind seeing a
hose run across your ceiling and down a wall, but its real
intent is to be a temporary solution until the roof
leak has been repaired. After determining where
the roof leaks & repairs have been
made, simply uninstall your InBrella™ Leak System
and store it for reuse. You’ll never get a less expensive
“insurance policy” against roof leaks
in your office!

We Aim To Please!
Because New Piggers are such nice people, (really, we are!)
we want to pass along some tips on signs that your roof
may be losing its structural integrity. Just because we
sell PIG® LEAK DIVERTERS doesn’t mean we want
to see every roof in the world leaking! Roof leaks
& repairs not only can be expensive, they are
potentially dangerous. Also, water will come into most buildings
at some point no matter your precautions, and it’s
best to plan for it before it happens. Some of the following
problems can be minimized by a comprehensive maintenance
program, while others are no more controllable than the
weather.
The most common reasons for roof leaks in commercial buildings
are:
- Mastics and sealants which break down with continuous
exposure to environmental conditions.
- Puncture of the roof surface by dropped tools, vandalism,
or installation of antennas, lightning rods, and pipes.
- Gutters, collector boxes, and downspouts become clogged
with debris restricting proper drainage of storm water
from roof surface.
- Roof surface corrosion created by:
- Trash left on roof.
- Reaction to air conditioner condensate or chemical
washes
- Buildup of coatings which age and crack, trapping
moisture against the roof membrane.
We sincerely hope we
have provided you with some sound information in regard
to the causes and remedies of roof leaks.
